What is Early Childhood Education (ECE)?
                  
In the field of Education there are a number of theories, Early Childhood Education is one branch of these educational theories. This Education Branch is about the teaching of young infants. This process of education is starting at the very early age of a child, the process includes both formal education and informal education. Early Childhood Education is child based system of education. In different areas of the world, Early Childhood Education is very popular as preschool and kindergarten education of infants or young children. A child of zero to eight years of age is called the student of early childhood education. This age period of a toddler or child having much importance in his/her life. Researchers say that a young child’s mantel growth maximum 80% in his/her early eight year, so this period is very important in a child life.

History of Early Childhood Education (ECE)

The concept of early childhood education is not very old in Europe. In the early 1800 the European mothers started to send their young children for education.   They change their history of education that was at home, and preferred outside institutions for their young children. The role of French revolution is very vast in this new system, although researchers also played their role well.  The first children schools in west were established in Church, private home and factories.  At that time only working couples left their babies in these care centers.
The share and contribution of Friedrich Froebel very important to change the system of education in Kindergarten. It is truth that the system of child education   first use in Europe and west. After that the role of Madam Maria Montessori (1870-1952) (Elkind, 2010) in child’ early education is very important. The importance of early childhood education was increased after World War 1.



Method of Early Child hood Education (ECE)

There are many different types of program for early childhood education but two are most important, one is care of a child and second is education of a young child. The method of educators or teachers may be different but purpose is same to receive result in the form of holistic development of a child. The best learning method is experience and that experience of something will save in the mind of an infant. John Dewey rightly said that the learning is to do by doing.
The system of Early Child hood Education is based on jean piaget’s philosophy and research, known as cognitive development theory. According to this theory, Early Childhood Education mostly focuses on learning through play.  Learning through playing covers seven domains of a child as language, cognitive development, gross motor development, fine motor development, social emotional development and self-help adaptive. The term of Early Childhood Education is very broad, we can’t it summaries it. But it covers all the developmental areas of a child or holistic development. Early Childhood Education develops confidence of a child. Because the development of a personality of an infant in his/her early eight years period, and this personality will express in the next period of life.
